Discharge Printing

Discharge Printing involves a mechanism where the dyed area on a garment is removed and another color is dyed in its place. It is a screen printing process, which involves use of discharge inks instead of normal inks that perform the process of removing the dye from the fabric. The process of discharge printing displays similarity to the bleaching process, except that unlike bleaching, it causes no damage to the fibre.

The prints resulting from Discharge Printing Process are soft and showcase the fabric’s weave, making it an ideal printing method to achieve colors on dark garments.

Keeping in mind, the importance of maintaining softness of the fabric and feasibility of printing multiple colors on a fabric, Comet has introduced Arron Tenso Liquid, a discharge printing thickener that enhances the visual look of the fabric and makes the prints appear as if they were printed into the fabric instead of onto it.
